Project Description
The new Baptist Memorial Hospital is a replacement campus on 85 acres located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The facility includes six stories,room for 315 beds,seismic design, and the ability/design to accommodate future growth. The services include surgical surgery, neurosurgery, Cancer treatment, a 24-hour emergency department, and women’s center.This facility is the single largest investment in the Baptist Memorial Healthcare System.
This facility features four 100 ton energy efficient centrifugal chillers, three 350 BHP high-efficiency steam boilers, and three 1500 KW generators all housed in a 18,000 GSF central energy plant.The majority of the hospital is served from four central air handling systems supplying over 100,000 cfm located in the 7th floor penthouse. It also features a surgery unit with a desiccant dehumidification system to maintain the relative humidity in the low temperature operating rooms.The operating rooms, delivery rooms and cath labs are all provided with dedicated smoke evacuation systems.
This facility is the single largest investment in the Baptist Memorial Healthcare System.It incorporated innovative healthcare equipment including CT scanners, PET scans, MRI, X-ray tables, and ultrasounds. It is also located in the New Madrid Fault area, which has had four of the largest North American earthquakes in recorded history. This had a large impact on the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing design for the campus of the hospital.
