Project Description

This 26,000 GSF expansion facility nestled in Hendersonville, Tennessee continues the expansion of Smith Travel Research’s information technology department. The expansion features new individual offices, meeting rooms, and centralized office space. This beautiful building incorporates its natural surroundings with a “lodge-like” interior. The interior features a large stone fireplace, open wood structures, and grand windows overlooking the natural surroundings and koi pond.

The key engineering design feature of this facility is the use of a geothermal heat pump system. This system takes advantage of the moderate temperatures in the ground during both the winter and summer to reduce the overall operational costs of the heating and cooling systems.

Phoenix Design Group, Inc. maintained a close relationship throughout the design process, monitoring the development of the design and processing all value engineering alternatives to maximize the owner’s satisfaction.
