About Us: |
History Founded in 1987, Phoenix Design Group, Inc. is a professional consulting firm serving the architectural design requirements of the construction market. Collectively, the current principals have more than 160 years experience in management, design, production and quality control of construction projects associated with a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm. The focus of the firm's efforts is to provide principal involvement, not only in project management, but equally in the design, production, and coordination with the Architect, Owner and with the other team members. The principals possess a wide range of design knowledge for various types of facilities including new and renovation construction to hospitals, medical office buildings, specialized laboratories, medical centers, school, and industrial facilities of several industries. The firm is experienced in the design of projects involving high-rise construction, smoke evacuation and seismic restraints. Firm Profile The firm employs twenty-one experienced production and/or administrative personnel aiding in the design, drafting, and preparation of specifications for the mechanical and electrical disciplines. Five employees are registered mechanical engineers (4 professional, 1 engineer-in-training) and two are registered professional electrical engineers. While many large firms prefer to engage the principals in managerial, marketing and administrative roles, Phoenix involves the principals at every level of the design phase. Phoenix is dedicated to meeting the needs of our clients by providing quality engineering services in highly specialized fields through exposure to the firm's most experienced design personnel. Employees are selected for their technical expertise and experience, yielding a productive office culture with minimal management. In the past five years, Phoenix has completed approximately 500 projects totaling close to $1.2 billion construction cost. Please refer to the 'Job Experience' page for more information regarding recent projects. Phoenix utilizes computer assistance in all facets of engineering design, analysis, and production. Engineering drawings are produced through AutoCAD, while other programs such as TRACE 700, SKM Power*Tools, BRUTE, and NIST Fire Simulation Dynamics allow for in-depth examination for each building system.
